Thoughtful Quotations
No man is fit to command another
who cannot command himself

He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty.
And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city"

Our Hands on the Plow

New Joy Fellowship members provide spiritual and emotional support to the incarcerated and their families.
• Our Prison Ministries Director is part of the Hagerstown team of Seventh-day Adventist volunteers and personally gives Bible studies every Saturday morning and first Tuesday evenings of the month in small group sesssions.

• The institutions served:
Maryland Correctional Institute:    18601 Roxbury Road
Roxbury Correctional Institute:  18701 Roxbury Road
Maryland Correctional Training Center:  18800 Roxbury Road
            Detention Center: Western Maryland Parkway

• New Joy Fellowship members send greeting cards—birthdays, holidays, and "thinking of you",  including cards made especially for the recipients. For most of these prisoners, this is the only connection they have outside the prison walls.

• Members connect with the families of the incarcerated in a variety of ways through the church departments listed under the Ministries tab on this Web site.
